Customer Profile:

The owners of a Princess Yachts S65 had cherished their boat for years, revelling in its craftmanship and luxury. However, after seven years of regular use, the interior began to show signs of wear and tear. With a deep love for their vessel, they sought to refresh and modernise the interior, aiming to maintain the high standards and specifications that initially drew them to Princess Yachts.

Problem & Goal:

The primary issue was the aging upholstery, which required a refresh to restore the boat’s elegance. Given the frequent use of the boat, the upholstery wear and tear had become quite noticeable. The owners wanted to uphold the high standards identical to Princess Yachts, ensuring the interior’s craftmanship mirrored the yachts overall quality.

Solution:

To achieve this transformation, the owners sought a company with the necessary expertise and experience. They chose Aquamare Marine to carry out the work, relocating their boat to Aquamare’s facility in Turnchapel Wharf, Plymouth, where it was lifted onto the hard in a safe and controlled environment for the work to begin.

The process starts with a thorough precondition audit. The team conducted an extensive inspection of the boat, meticulously recording the boats condition. This was followed by a complete walkaround video and photo documentation, which provided the owners with detailed information and recommendations based on findings.

Before any work commenced, all personal belongings of the owner were carefully removed and safely stored. The interior of the boat was then completely protected using high-quality materials, covering areas from the bathing area to the lower accommodation. This step was crucial to ensure the boat remained undamaged throughout the process.

The removal of the upholstery required skilled precision. The team dismantled all upholstery, stripping the boat back to its bare bones. This involved removing all the upholstered finishes without causing any damage to the boat. The dismantled moulds and panels were then taken to the on-site upholstery facility, where the material was removed and the panels were sanded and cleaned back to factory standards. Any damaged moulds and panels were repaired during this stage.

Once restored, the moulds and panels were taken back on board for a dry fit. This step ensured the tolerance and fit were perfect and met the highest standards. Following the successful dry fit, the panels were reupholstered using the customers’ choice of marine-grade luxury materials.

The reassembly of the vessel was carried out with meticulous attention to detail, following the same high standards as the factory. The in-house quality team conducted a thorough inspection to ensure all work was correctly executed. Professional cleaners and detailers were then brought in to prepare the boat for delivery, ensuring it was immaculate and ready for use.

A final post-works audit was completed to confirm that everything was in perfect order. This comprehensive process ensured that the boat was not only refreshed but also met the highest standards of quality and craftmanship.

Results & Benefits:

The owners were ecstatic with the results, feeling as if they had a brand-new boat. The transformation provided a fresh, modernised look, significantly enhancing their boating experience. The craftmanship and attention to detail saved the owners from the expense of purchasing a new Princess Yachts S65, instead giving their beloved boat a renewed lease of life. The owners expressed immense satisfaction, noting the exceptional quality and revitalised ambiance of their yacht.

Conclusion:

The successful transformation of the Princess Yachts S65 by Aquamare Marine underscores the value of expert craftmanship and attention to detail in maintaining and enhancing luxury yachts. By choosing to refurbish their existing yacht, the owners not only preserved their cherished vessel but also breathed new life into it.
